[Strasbourg] Post Doctorat Cell Biology (H/F) - 18 months

The mission of Sanofi R&D Center in Strasbourg is to develop and advance a portfolio of innovative research projects in partnership with academics or biotech companies in order to enrich Sanofi’s global research program portfolio.

The Cell Biology group within the Sanofi R&D Center is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher for developing cell-based assays to investigate the biological and pathological functions of mutant Huntingtin with the goal to discover novel therapeutic agents for Huntington’s disease. The individual should have an excellent understanding of mutant Huntingtin-induced pathology and/or other neurodegenerative diseases of protein conformation.

The successful candidate will develop and run a variety of cellular and biochemical assays such as FLIM, FRET, ELISA, and Western blot. Experience in cellular image-based and/or molecular biology techniques (RNAi, CRISPR/Cas9) would be an asset, as well as knowledges in automation.

The postdoctoral fellow will be located in Strasbourg, France, and will benefit from interactions with multidisciplinary international teams. The research position is for 18 months.

Required Knowledge And Skills

  • Solid bench expertise.

  • Keen sense of responsibility and ability to work independently in experimental execution and data analysis.

  • The candidate is expected to be a team player, highly rigorous, organized, creative, and capable of multitasking.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; spoken French an advantage, but not a requirement.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Demonstrated track record of publications.

  • Experience in the pharma industry or in early drug discovery is a plus.

Formal Education And Experience Required

  • PhD in biochemistry, cell biology or a related life sciences discipline.

  • Experience with cell-based functional assays (TR-FRET, immunoassays, etc.) and extensive knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics.

  • Experience in Huntington’s disease model systems is an advantage.
